The Interview of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran with Le Monde Newspaper
Aggressive and Illegal Attack by the United States and the Zionist Regime against Iran
Dr. Ali Tiztak, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Niger, in an interview with Le Monde Newspaper, on March 10th 2026, stated that the aggressive attack by the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel against Iran began during the holy month of Ramadan at a time when Iran and the United States were in the midst of a diplomatic negotiation process. He added that the attacks by the Zionist Regime and the United States against Iran constitute a violation of Article 2, paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter, as well as the rules of international law and international humanitarian law. Responding to this aggression is Iran’s lawful and legitimate right in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, and the Iranian armed forces will use all their capabilities and resources to confront this aggression. He emphasized that Iran did not initiate this war; however, within the framework of its inherent right of self-defense, it will continue to resolutely defend the sovereignty, national dignity, and territorial integrity of Iran with full strength. Iran will stand firm and confront the illegal, unjust, and ruthless war imposed upon it by the United States and the Zionist regime.According to him, Donald Trump committed a major mistake in attacking Iran and will certainly fail in achieving his objectives. On the occasion of the assassination and martyrdom of AyatollahAli Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, by the American and Zionist regimes, a Book of Condolences was opened at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Niamey from 4 to 6 March 2026. The Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Cabinet and Chief of Staff to the President of Niger, as well as a number of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of foreign countries, religious scholars, and supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran attended the embassy, signed the condolence book, and expressed their sympathies. They also declared their solidarity with Iran in the face of the illegal attack by the United States and the Zionist regime, describing the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a grave and unforgivable crime and condemned it. The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran was a courageous and patriotic figure who stood firmly against the excessive demands of foreign powers. The assassination of this prominent figure—who had many followers around the world—along with the killing of many Iranian citizens, including 181 elementary school students in Minab, and attacks on hospitals, mosques, service and medical centers, and residential homes constitute a clear violation of the United Nations Charter and the fundamental principles of international law. Relying on its defensive capabilities and supported by the Iranian nation, the Islamic Republic of Iran will defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity within the framework of its inherent right of self-defense and will respond decisively to any act of aggression. All member states of the United Nations—especially Islamic countries and all governments that feel responsible for regional and international peace, stability, and security—are expected to condemn the illegal attack by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, take immediate action to stop these unlawful attacks, and bring the perpetrators of this aggression to justice. History bears witness that the Iranian people have never surrendered to foreign aggression. This time as well, the Iranian nation will make the aggressors regret their criminal actions.
