The speech of the ninth president of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the inauguration ceremony in the Islamic Council

The axis of convergence in the country is adherence to Constitution vision document general policies approved by Supreme Leader/ My govt will pursue national interests needs of peace and security in region world by creating balance and equilibrium in foreign relations

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Greetings to the great people of Iran, respected representatives of the people, heads and representatives of friendly countries around the world;

Salutations to the soul of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, precious martyrs, especially Martyr General QasemSoleimani and the martyrs of the government: martyr Bahonar, martyr Rajaei and martyr Raisi.

Being in the nation's hall and taking oath to assume the responsibility of the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as stipulated in Article 121 of the Constitution, is a historic and responsible moment.

With the grace of the merciful Lord, the prudence of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the intelligent vote of the people, the fourteenth presidential election opened a new opportunity for Iran and the world:

The opportunity to understand the serious conditions of the country and the difficulties of people's lives

The opportunity to hear the voices of all members of the nation and their desire for transformation and change

The opportunity to correct inefficient approaches and procedures in governance

The opportunity to create hope and harmony to overcome the bottlenecks and complex crises ahead

And the opportunity to correct the unpleasant dealings of world powers with the courageous people of Iran.

The opportunity arising from the elections is a new field of national cooperation within the system, between the system and the society, and within the society.

The government that will be in charge of executive responsibilities with the vote of confidence of the respected representatives is the "government of national unity"; a government that considers itself to be the government of all the people of Iran, is obliged to ensure the citizenship rights of all Iranians and is committed to the priority of national interests over everything else.

The focus of convergence will be adherence to the constitution, vision document and general policies approved by the Supreme Leader.

The constitution is our national covenant. The vision document outlines our shared future and sets out the general policies for how we will achieve the vision.

What we need today is to reread the vision and design solutions based on general policies to achieve the characteristics that the vision document has drawn for the Iranian society.

In this perspective;

- Iran is a developed country with the first economic, scientific and technological position in the region, with an inspiring Islamic and revolutionary identity in the World of Islam and with constructive and effective interaction in international relations and with an emphasis on religious democracy, social justice, legitimate freedoms, preservation of the dignity and rights of human beings and enjoying social and judicial security.

- Having advanced knowledge, capable of producing science and technology, relying on the superior share of human resources and social capital and national production.

- Safe, independent and powerful.

- Having health, welfare, food security, social security, equal opportunities, proportional distribution of income, strong family institution, far from poverty, corruption, discrimination and benefiting from favourable environment.

- Active, responsible, self-sacrificing, faithful, satisfied, having work conscience, discipline, spirit of cooperation and social compatibility, committed to the Islamic revolution and system and the prosperity of Iran and proud of being Iranian.

- Influential on Islamic and regional convergence based on Islamic teachings and the thoughts of Imam Khomeini (RA).

- Having a constructive and effective interaction with the world based on the principles of dignity, wisdom and expediency.

The 14th presidential election showed that our people only want to achieve these goals. Is people's desire for justice, elimination of discrimination, having a just and honourable life, progress, peace and tranquillity away from worry, humiliation and extra-legal interventions anything but the rights of the nation in the third chapter of the constitution and the features listed in the vision document?

So what is our disagreement about?

Is the sign of being guardianship-centeredness and practical commitment to the constitution anything but a joint effort to respect the wishes of the nation?

National unity means giving up the differences that are formed only on the basis of selfishness and joining hands to achieve this vision.

Did our people want anything other than this in this election?

Iran needs to overcome the current complex conditions and the dangers ahead and open the way for sustainable development. The world also needs to take advantage of this unique opportunity to solve regional and global problems with the participation of a powerful, peaceful and respectable Iran.

We should look at Iranian people, women, youth and ethnic groups as unique national opportunities and boost these opportunities. They can provide new ways to solve the country's chronic problems. We must provide the opportunity to attend and participate for those who have been in the margins until now.

The 14th government will pursue the fair, sustainable and all-round development of Iran and increase the country's economic power and improve people's lives. Eliminating discrimination and expanding political, economic, social, educational, gender and intergenerational justice is necessary to achieve this goal.

People, regardless of their taste, ethnicity, religion and gender, are the focus of the country's development, and wisdom and foresight in governance are the foundations of progress and upliftment of the country and people.

We must return to the honour, dignity and sanctity of human beings, especially the young generation and women and girls who are offended by being ignored, humiliated and imposed.

In this way, we need the support and help of all the governing bodies and institutions, especially the respectable legislative and judicial branches.

The opportunity before us is the opportunity to change and reform and respond to new needs. Moving in the direction of the nation's will and carrying out structural and behavioural reforms in that direction is beneficial for everyone. In this way, everyone is a winner and there are no losers.

Dear fellow Iranians;

I have hope for the future.

Although expert reports show the country's current situation to be complicated and difficult, and we all witness that people's lives and livelihoods are facing many hardships, without a doubt, trusting in God's eternal power and the abilities of dear Iran and especially the human capacity of the understanding people of this land make it possible to overcome any challenge.

Common understanding, national determination and concerted action will pave the way for opening the horizon.

Honourable audience;

Iran is a safe, coherent and stable country. At the height of the turbulent storms and tornadoes in the region and after a terrible incident that led to the martyrdom of the country's president, we held a completely competitive, healthy and promising election and - in complete peace and empathy - we marked a new chapter in the administration of the country.

With the support of the people, with the support of the Supreme Leader and by creating a consensus among all the country's political factions, I will resolutely and honourably protect the dignity and interests of Iran and the rights of the nation in the international arena.

"Providing national interests", "protecting people's security", "economic development of the country" and "improving people's quality of life" - within the framework of the three principles of "honour, wisdom and expediency" - will be the most important goals of my government's foreign policy.

To achieve these goals, "constructive and balanced interaction with the world" and the realisation of people's rights will be at the top of the government's agenda.

The priority of my government's foreign policy is to improve and strengthen relations with neighbouring countries.

Neighbouring countries should not waste their valuable resources in tensions and erosive competitions. My government will want a "strong region"; a region where all neighbouring countries can take joint steps for economic development, progress and improving the lives of future generations.

A region whose security will be provided by the countries of the region and the pretext for the presence of foreign powers will be taken away from them

A region that does not allow a few extremists and dogmatists to trap nearly two billion peace-loving and free-thinking Muslims in the false narrative of Islamophobia.

Islam is a religion of peace. Some self-proclaimed human rights advocates, who have a history full of xenophobia and violation of people's rights, cannot consider themselves superior to Muslims, who have been a symbol of tolerance and the leader of science and progress in history. Those who provide weapons to kill children in Gaza cannot teach humanity and tolerance to others.

No one in the world accepts that the head of a regime that fights with women and children in Gaza and drops bombs on them is encouraged and supported. It seems that for some claimants of civilisation, the basic rights of people are measured based on their skin colour, language and religion.

We, the descendants of Saadi, wish for a world where everyone believes in words and deeds that:

Human beings are members of a whole

In creation of one essence and soul

If one member is afflicted with pain

Other members uneasy will remain

If you have no sympathy for human pain

The name of human you cannot retain

You cannot call yourself a human being and remain silent against of all these crimes.

We want a world in which the Palestinian people are freed from occupation, oppression, captivity and genocide, and the dreams of no Palestinian child are buried under the rubble of their family house.

Together, we can realise this dream - which is the dream of all the free people of the region and the world.

My government will pursue national interests and the needs of peace and security in the region and the world by establishing "balance" and "equilibrium" in foreign relations. We will appreciate our friends of hard days; We will strengthen our relations with the emerging players in the Global South, we will try to establish friendship and affection with our eastern neighbours and the Persian-speaking cultural sphere, we call on the western countries to understand the realities and establish relations based on mutual respect and equal status, and we are ready to manage tension with governments that have not yet understood Iran's dignity and position.

I consider "the normalisation of Iran's economic and trade relations with the world" as the inalienable right of the Iranian people and I will not stop working to lift the oppressive sanctions.

My government will never give in to coercion, pressure and double standards. The experience of more than two decades of negotiations with Iran must have made the governments negotiating with Iran understand that we were and will be abiding by our commitments; But the people, leader and political system of Iran do not respond to pressure and extravagance. Iranian people should be treated with respect and honour.

Iran has always stood on the right side of history and humanity, and we will continue on the same path, which is based on religious and cultural beliefs and Iranian civilisation.

Dear friends and colleagues!

Iran, the region and the world today need understanding, solidarity and participation. The motto of the Iranian people has always been:

The peace of both worlds lies in understanding these two words: Kindness to friends and tolerance to enemies.

We seek peace and stability in the region and the world, and progress and prosperity for the people of Iran and the region. Let's reduce the worries and dissatisfaction of our people together and return Iran and the region to its rightful place in history, civilisation and contemporary culture.

We are all in the same boat in today's stormy world. Let's advance the governance system with the compass of peace and progress of our people.

In the end, I would like to thank all the esteemed audience for participating in this ceremony, especially the esteemed representatives of the people, whom I have had the honour to be among for 4 rounds, and I look forward to your company.

I also appreciate the officials of friendly foreign governments for attending this event. I hope that the relations between our nations and governments will expand every day.
